In 1920 the son incorporated his firm to form 'The Haynes Flute Company, Inc.' , with engraving on the flutes nearly identical to his father's . At this point he changed his name to ' William S. Haynes, Jr. ', to further capitalize on his father's success.
The father sued his son, and the courts ruled in favor of the father . I n July 1921, the son's company name was changed again to ' The Haynes-Schwelm Co.
